The Greek Narrative ("we", "us", "the publication") is an independent editorial platform covering Greek capital, culture, and the Mediterranean class. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you hold over it.
Who we are
The Greek Narrative publishes online at thegreeknarrative.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, write to editorial@thegreeknarrative.com.
What we collect
- Newsletter data. When you subscribe to the Insider Brief, we collect your email address and the date you subscribed.
- Usage data. When you read the site, we collect aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics, such as pages viewed, approximate region, and referring source. We do not build advertising profiles.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to reply and to maintain a record of the exchange.
How we use it
- To send you the Insider Brief and any newsletter you have asked to receive.
- To understand which articles are read, so we can improve the publication.
- To respond to your enquiries, pitches, and corrections.
Legal basis
We process newsletter data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you subscribe and can withdraw at any time. We process analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in measuring and improving readership, balanced against your privacy.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the publication. These may include an email delivery provider (to send the newsletter), a privacy-respecting analytics provider, and our hosting provider. Each processes data only on our instructions. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every issue, or by emailing us. To exercise any right, contact editorial@thegreeknarrative.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics we run is configured to avoid storing personally identifying information where possible.
Retention
We keep newsletter data for as long as you remain subscribed, and a short period afterwards to honour unsubscribe requests. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the matter and our records.
Changes
We may update this policy as the publication grows. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
